The Rock - Allegany County Speedway is located on the Allegany County Fairgrounds near the city of Cumberland, MD. The Rock is nestled in the beautiful Western Maryland mountainside and provides a unique setting for spectators and racers. Reminiscent of Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, railroad tracks are found on the premises and it is not unusual to hear the sounds of a CSX train going by the The Rock on race night.
This section of the website is for fans and racers to become more familiar with The Rock, the surrounding area and hopefully answer all your questions about our amazing half-mile facility. Take time to browse through the pages and if you have any questions - feel free to contact us!
You can contact The Rock - Allegany Speedway in a variety of ways. You can reach us via e-mail by filling out the short form on our contact page. Postal mail arrives to the home office at: Oval Track Promotions/Rick Jones, 304 East Green Street, Westminister, MD 21157. You may also phone Oval Track Promotions/Rick Jones at (410) 857-3821 or contact the track office(only on raceday) at (301) 729-5050.
Press Credential Policy: Press Credential requests must be mailed or faxed in advance of the event. Season Press Credentials are also available following the same procedures but must be noted when request is made. E-mailed requests for credentials are not accepted. You may ask questions, but The Rock will not grant press credentials via e-mail correspondence.
No credentials will be issued at the track without a mailed or faxed request.
All press credentials must be on company letterhead, NO EXCEPTIONS. If the represented company is a printed publication, a copy of the publication must also be submitted. We must also see a 'hard card' from the publication, dated for the current year, if/when possible. Publications can handle this by issuing a complimentary subscription to the track.
Notice: Websites that cover events and provide weekly race results must submit verification and is not guaranteed a press credential by website existence only.
Individual event Press Credentials will not be carried over from one event to the next. A separate request must be mailed or faxed for each event. Requests must be received in the office at least 24 hours prior to event.
